Sarah & Ryder are Married!
Truth: I haven't photographed a wedding since October 2018.
Also Truth: I hadn't planned on coming out of "wedding photography" retirement until later this fall when my friend's Nicci & Jeremy were planning on getting married.
Also, Also, Truth: That was the only wedding I had planned to photograph in 2020.
But, then I got Sarah's late-night text. She was in need of a wedding photographer for her causal wedding in a couple of weeks and I came highly recommended by her brother. Like many couples these days, she and her fiancé weren't sure if they were going to postpone their nuptials until all this crazy COVID business blew over. But, after buying a house while continuing to raise their two kiddos, they decided 'Why the heck not? Life is short. Let's get hitched.'
So, the planning went ahead. They slashed their guest list, canceled their reception hall, and opted for their neighborhood park instead of the church. A dress was purchased just a month before the wedding, flower arrangements were made just days before and the fancy dinner they had planned turned into Rhombus Guys pizza (which the ordered minutes after the ceremony).
It was a perfect day.
