Yeehaw Seattle!

Welcome to summer of 2017, or as we like to call it in our household, the Summer of Yeehaw. Our little guy Anton coin the term while on a bike ride earlier this year and with one of three months nearing its end, I can confidently say the name has been super appropriate. When we found out our niece had planned her wedding for mid June near Seattle,  my husband and I thought it would be a great time to embark on the first BIG trip with two kiddos.  Honestly, in retrospect, had I known we would be buying and selling a house, I may have shortened the 8 day trip. But, with tickets purchased and the days slotted off on our calendars, we went ahead and declared "Yeehaw Seattle!"We had a blast exploring in and out of the city, eating fresh seafood, going on a boat ride, and visiting all the sites.  We learned that Pike Place Market is not a place for strollers, the Space Needle has very long lines and that traffic is really (REALLY) bad in Seattle.

I’m quite certain that our favorite part of the trip was venturing north to Deception Pass. We didn’t quite make it across the very long bridge mostly because we were all afraid Anton would find a way to topple over the side. However, below the bridge and into the state park is a gorgeous beach. We all had a blast throwing pebbles into the water, climbing rocks and enjoying a little bit of sunshine.

A few days prior, we headed up to Snoqualmie Falls to gawk at one of Washington's most beautiful waterfalls. It's also the fictional home to The Great Northern Hotel from the brilliantly weird and campy show Twin Peaks. No, I didn't meet the log lady. Yes, I hoped I would.

Now to the main event. Amanda and Tommy’s wedding!  The evening before, we were recruited to help put together table arrangements. Good thing Amanda and her sister Amber had it under control. I’m not sure any of us would have been much help.Everything was planned beautifully AND we only had to walk down the hill from Kris’ brother's house to attend. It was so much fun to celebrate the lovely couple.

Yeehaw! Now on to the next adventure... our annual pilgrimage to the Winnipeg Folk Festival!
