When I first met Emilia, she was a shy preschooler and the totally adorable daughter of my boss Dave. I was working for Milestones Photography at the time and honestly hadn’t really been around a lot of little kids before. Once - I think just once - I made her laugh. Which was a giant win.

I hadn’t seen much of Emilia since leaving Milestones. In my head, she was still this quiet little child, always carefully observing. Turns out, kids grow into adults in a blink of an eye. That shy kiddo I once knew is now a bold, hilarious, uber-smart young adult ready to take over the world.

Our session was plagued by quasi-stormy weather and some good prairie wind. But, Emilia made the best of it and didn’t baulk at twirling when requested. She’s such an awesome human and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for her as she embarks on adulthood.
