Dakota Blitz 3:10

In summer 2017, I was super fortunate to help document the 5th day of their big Dakota Blitz 3:10 build in West Fargo. Like a swarm of worker bees, volunteers for Habitat of Humanity have been busy building three (yes, three!) new homes in just ten days. It was amazing to see this well-oiled machine at work fueled by awesome humans.

Along with local volunteers, a group of expert volunteers from across the country called the Blitz Home Builders have been busy on this project. Each year the Blitz team chooses one affiliate chapter of Habitat of Humanity to work with and then builds 2-7 houses within a 7-10 day period. Cool right? In 22 years this close-knit team has built 69 homes for families across the world.

In West Fargo, the Faizee, Nhial and Mohamoud families have been hard-working alongside the volunteers, investing 250 hours of sweat equity into their new homes. Soon, they'll have an affordable mortgage which will help our local chapter, Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity, build more houses in the future.
